‘O Poli’ahu ka wahine kapa hau

‘O Poli’ahu ka wahine kapa hau
‘O Poli’ahu i ke kualono ‘o Mauna Kea

Honoring the solstice, the shifting of the cycles, and the transition of the seasons with offerings of pa’akai in my hands and prayers on my lips. This particular time of Lono has been both challenging and beautiful. From making the journey from Hōlanikū with my sister @kapuleifloress to sitting deeply with my sacred grief in the passing of our Grandmother, the great matriarch of our family, to the eruption of Mauna Loa, and then to the return of Poli’ahu to the slopes of the mountain we love - emotions have been high and low. I have been processing and facing feelings of depression and anxiety with glimmers of feeling at home in my body in between. I know I am not the only person who has been feeling these emotions deeply and the heaviness that this time can bring up to be acknowledged and tended to. So if you are going through it right now, I will be lifting pule for your hearts tonight with love and compassion. Calling in more grace, more tenderness, more understanding, and more ease as the snow shines in the moon and star light.

Listening with all of my senses, lighting sacred smoke, and gathering the power centers of my being with song.

Ho’olono 🌀
