Afromundo Festival 2025

Such a beautifully emotional experience today at the Afromundo Festival viewing the documentary screening, We Will Not Perish followed by a panel discussion on Haiti and Cuba. We all learned so much and felt it deeply. I couldn't help but stand and speak of two times on the Ala during the 2019 - 2020 stand on the mauna when these island nations were represented and flags gifted to the kupuna with heartfelt commitments of support.

Today, I was filled with humble gratitude and deep respect. Our alliances and relationships grow deeper each time one of us stands for Mauna Kea whether at home or where ever we go. Back to our hale, sitting with tears under a tree watching the sunset! Tomorrow will be our turn to present our film for the mauna.

Together We Rise, Together We Stand. Viva Haiti! Viva Cuba! E Ola e Hawai'i! ❤️
