Aloha Everyone...Though We May Not Be Able To Be On The Front Lines With All Who Are Standing Up Against The Dishonoring Of Our Land, This Is Our Way Of Standing With You All In Solidarity. May This Song Be A Blessings To You All.
This song is a protest to the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea - the highest and most sacred mountain in Polynesia located on Hawai'i Island. The telescope, while providing many scientific benefits, would be detrimental to the environment, spirituality, and political process of the people of Hawai'i.
The highlight song of the Maunakea concert was the original composition "Warrior Rising" by Hāwane Rios featuring Lākea Trask. ʻŌiwi TV presents "Mele ma ka Mauna", an original series celebrating the unique movement and Kapu Aloha around the Thirty Meter Telescope construction on Mauna a Wākea.

This song was inspired by the "Protect Mauna Kea" & "Aloha Aina" movement. We, the people of the Big Island of Hawaii do not approve of the building of a 180 foot tall telescope & the bulldozing of a 5 acre parcel on top of our sacred Mauna Kea.
